ALG Celebrates Summer at Metro Bank Park
August 19, 2014
Before summer got away from us, we suspended our client deliverables for an afternoon (some more reluctantly than others) to bring our families together for a night at the ball park. Metro Bank Park is a great venue, and we're lucky to have the Harrisburg Senators to enjoy! It is some really great baseball right here at home! Despite the disparity in personalities and personal interests in our office, we all share one thing: a love of family. We can "get behind" many of our client matters easily because they all have a direct impact on the clients we serve and ultimately their families. From our team to yours, enjoy the rest of your summer!
C&J Tire Services Expanding into Central PA!
April 17, 2014
ALG congratulates CJ's Tire & Automotive Services, Inc. ("CJ's") on its expanded footprint in Central Pennsylvania. CJ's is growing and we were proud to assist with it's most recent addition - 2814 East Market Street in York (pictured above). Coupled with exercising its purchase option on the leased West Chester store last year, CJ's has solidified its presence in its 12th store, while York represents its 13th location in Central Pennsylvania. The organization is now providing high quality tire and automotive services in more Central Pennsylvania markets. These 2013 initiatives highlight the growth in play with this impressive client. Reviewing CJs' real estate and expansion plans for 2014 shows that CJs has no intention of slowing down their roll! With over 40 years of excellent values and upstanding business practices, it is such a pleasure to watch CJ's grow at this pace. In addition to key values that are integral to CJ's success, the company offers many of the major tire brands in its stores, including, but not limited to, Michelin, BF Goodrich and Hankook. ALG Teams Up with ORSA!
March 14, 2014
Congratulations to the leaders of Olmsted Recreational Soccer Association ("ORSA") for their 2013 accomplishments. ALG has been working with ORSA to formalize the critical 501(c)3 status. In addition to solidifying this critical step for the organization, ORSA leadership has achieved a number of things in 2013, including the introduction of the first phase of online registrations, a brand new concession stand, dedicated to long time past president, Charles Stokes, and last but not least, the commitment to elect a compliance officer who will monitor compliance with safety rules, such as the coaches' concussion training requirements. Says ALG CFO, Colleen Artell (who coached a team for the organization this past year): "The ORSA board is working hard to make change within the organization. So many people don't realize the level of commitment that exists within the leadership group. They are a forward looking group that is trying to effect change that will provide long term benefit for the organization, and most importantly, the kids. We enjoy working with ORSA - their responsiveness facilitates our efforts for a win-win."
Home Team Training Center
February 27, 2014
ALG welcomes new client Home Team Training Center, LLC ("Home Team"). Home Team offers athletic performance enhancement programs and certified fitness training to student athletes, coupled with an understanding and knowledge of what kids need to develop their athletic ability while still maintaining a focus on academics, community involvement and upstanding behavior. Home Team's grand opening is March 1, 2014 within the Hetrick Center in Middletown, PA. Visit www.hometeamtrainingcenter.com for information on special grand opening incentives.
Among a larger population of youth athletic performance enhancement clubs, camps, and facilities, Home Team strives to offer something more. Sole proprietor and Certified Fitness Trainer Robert Stone, IV has spent years coaching and training local kids. His main objective for Home Team is to offer local kids a chance at enhancing their athletic ability without the typical high end price tag attached to most programs of the same nature. Coupled with the use of the Hetrick Center's facilities, Home Team provides student athletes with advanced training and performance enhancement for a reasonable price - right here, in our community. "Many of our local athletes have a limited ability to ever seek targeted performance training due to cost constraints" says Stone. "At Home Team, we understand that need, and we look at youth athletics as a conduit to teach kids about living healthy as well as being active community members." Home Team's mission is to produce advanced athletes that look at training and health as way to expand their productivity at school, within the realm of their chosen sport and within the community. Obtaining peak performance facilitates this mentality. For parents, it's local and affordable.
Happy Holidays from the Artell Law Group!

ALG Named 2013 Finalist for Emerging Business of the Year in Central Pennsylvania
November 15, 2013
On November 4, 2013 ALG was recognized at the Central Penn Business Journal's Business of the Year Awards, held at the Harrisburg Hilton. Managing Attorney Rich Artell and his wife Colleen, the firm's CFO, attended the dinner with staff members and colleagues. Says Managing Attorney Artell "the best part of the event was listening to the inductees for the business hall of fame talk about the early years when they started their business. After that you sit back and feel honored to be in the presence of those folks. You know how hard you work and how much mental capital you spend worrying about pleasing your clients, and doing the right things. When you listen to people who have 'been there and done that' you feel so energetic about your own business. I could listen to those stories all night. Bringing home a finalist plaque was icing on the cake. My congratulations go out to the winner, Red Pivot, LLC and all the other finalists as well. Special thanks to ALG staff members who made such recognition a reality!"
Building Renovation Updates
August 23, 2012
We've been anxious to update our clients and colleagues on the progress we're making at our new office location. One thing that we're committed to is keeping a low cost structure so that we can maintain one of the key tenets to the firm's approach - which is to carve out fair and equitable compensation for our attorneys while keeping billable rates reasonable for our clients. Solid legal competence doesn't need to be associated with high overhead costs. The new building location is cost-effective for us and easy to get to for clients. It also offers visibility which is something else we were after.
This week we put a wrap on the upstairs attorney offices: painting, flooring, and cleaning were accomplished. Last week, the great team from LT Land & Tree scaled back the trees and shrubs that had grown up and were covering our signs. Some of the beautiful trees on our lot also got a hair cut: like the giant Sycamore on the South-west corner of the building itself. Such a beautiful tree deserves a healthy haircut once in a while. Now that the trees are trimmed, it's time to change the signage. Look for an update on that in the near future! !
